Volunteering
Volunteering can help connect you to your community and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in even simple ways can help your community and improve your wellbeing.
Directors and Conveners
All Community Centres in Winnipeg are non-profit organizations led by volunteer teams of directors. Without your support in leadership positions, community centres cannot offer programming or supports for your community.
Community youth sports - such as TimBits soccer programs as well as recreational soccer, community league basketball, baseball, and hockey - also rely on volunteer conveners to process registrations, form teams, identify coaches, prepare equipment, and maintain communications with families and the league. Our General Manager is here to help with equipment and communications as well as distribution at the Community Centre.
Coaching
Youth sports rely on volunteer coaches. You don’t need to be a parent to support youth in sport. What sport are you interested in? If you’re interested in coaching and developing your skills, reach out to us and we’ll get you in touch. Most sport associations support coach development.
